What Happens Next
Upon receiving a valid copyright notice:
- Acknowledgement (within 2 business days): We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint.
- Review (within 5 business days): We will review the complaint and compare the flagged content against the claimed original work.
- Action: If we determine that the content likely infringes, we will:
- Remove or disable access to the content;
- Notify the Seller of the complaint and the action taken;
- Provide the Seller with a copy of the complaint (excluding your personal contact details if you request confidentiality).
- Seller Counter-Notice: The Seller may submit a counter-notice if they believe the takedown was in error. Counter-notices must include:
- The Seller’s full name and contact information;
- Identification of the removed content;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the Seller has a good faith belief the content was removed in error;
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
- Resolution: If a valid counter-notice is received, we will notify you and, unless you file a court action within 14 business days, we may restore the content.
Repeat Infringers
Sellers who receive two or more valid copyright complaints will have their Seller accounts permanently suspended and all listings removed.
Good Faith
btrU reserves the right to dismiss complaints that appear to be filed in bad faith, are incomplete, or do not identify a specific copyrighted work.
